Szilard Zsigmond is Director of Product Line Management for sWDM transport solutions where he is responsible for 1830 PSS photonic line infrastructure as well as 1830 PSS coherent solutions for both terrestrial and subsea applications. He also oversees the Terrestrial-Subsea integration and unrepeated solution with 1830LX product line. Szilard has extensive knowledge of optical communication systems expertise of fiber-optics communication, high level modulation formats, coherent transmission and digital signal processing. Before joining Alcatel-Lucent, Szilard was working as researcher and lecturer at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He was leading multiple EU founded projects in the field of optical communication. His research interests were mainly focus on optimization of WDM networks, impairment constraint based routing, high level modulation formats and all-optical packet switching. He was also visiting researcher at NICT-National Institute of Information and Communications Technology Japan. From 2010, he joined Alcatel-Lucent where he was responsible for Central & North-East region of Europe serving as a solution architect. From 2012 become the solution architect of Asia-Pacific region later becomes the head of Asia-Pacific regional Product Line Management. From 2014 joined the core Product Line Management team being the principal Product Line Manager of photonic line systems and transmission. From 2019 leading the Product Line Management team in charge of sWDM transport including optical line and transponder applications. Szilard holds a PH.D. from Budapest University of Technology and Economics, has numerous speaking in various conferences; he has published more than 40 scientific papers.
